They simply make it up to suit their own agenda. My hope and prayer is that this will be adjudicated properly, buy I'm not going to hold my breath, especially when we have Supreme Court justices who think foreign laws and traditions should be taken into consideration.

Most politicians, and probably most Americans, see health care as a right. Thus, whether a person has the means to pay for medical services or not, he is nonetheless entitled to them. Let's ask ourselves a few questions about this vision. ...
Well, let's look at what the author of the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence had to say:
"Our tenet ever was that Congress had not unlimited powers to provide for the general welfare, but were restrained to those specifically enumerated, and that, as it was never meant that they should provide for that welfare but by the exercise of the enumerated powers, so it could not have been meant they should raise money for purposes which the enumeration did not place under their action; consequently, that the specification of powers is a limitation of the purposes for which they may raise money. ."

Rich people can gain power over us, but to do so, they must get permission from our elected representatives at the federal, state or local levels. For example, I might wish to purchase sugar from a Caribbean producer, but America's sugar lobby pays congressmen hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions to impose sugar import tariffs and quotas, forcing me and every other American to purchase their more expensive sugar. ...

Anybody that says that John Wall's the Player of the Year is simply following the UK "rebirth" hype-wagon! Evan Turner is CLEARLY the best player in college basketball. Just look at his stats and what he means to his team. Nobody else comes close! I would love to see him return for his senior year, but I'm realistic enough to know that, as good as he is, he'll be one of the top 2 or 3 player taken in the NBA draft. Coming back would be terrific, but would also be an enormous risk, especially considering his back injury earlier this season.

I do need to make one correction to this story. Nazi is short for NATIONAL SOCIALIST. Socialist are not on the right end of the political spectrum. They are on the left end! As someone who has worked in law enforcement and plans to do so again, I am greatly offended by a fellow officer making such an uneducated and, clearly, stupid statement! A LAW ABIDING citizen carrying concealed or openly is not someone that I fear any harm from. The "turds" that he referenced are the ones that must be carefully watched. They are the ones that are going to try to hide in the dark crevasses and run whenever the light is shone upon them!

Comcast is trying to damage DirecTV. All I can say is CABLE SUCKS! The only way I will EVER have cable again is if I have no other alternative.

Whatever the results of the Copenhagen conference on climate change, one thing is for sure: Draconian reductions on carbon emissions will be tacitly accepted by the most developed economies and sloughed off by many developing ones. In essence, emerging economies get to cut their "carbon" intensity--a natural product of their economic evolution--while we get to cut our throats. ...
We are being sold a bill of goods by the likes of Al Gore, the "scientists" at East Anglia University, NASA and else where. Now upon finally being able to closely examine what we are being asked to buy we find out it's totally worthless and that Al Gore and his ilk are nothing more than modern day snake-oil salesmen. Yet, when we refuse to buy their garbage we are labeled "deniers" and called stupid for not wanting their crap. Well, thanks to a few thousand emails that were pilfered last week, we now know that they are the ones that deserve a moniker. So, hence forth, using their own methods, I label them WARMERS. A warmer being, one who tries to, knowingly, force the false premise of man-made global warming on others in an attempt to enrich themselves and enlarge their own power base for their own self-serving interests. Feel free to expand than definition. I know I didn't get the entire area encompassed.

This is a very interesting and eye opening read. Clearly Texas is doing it right and is the model for the rest of the country. I would love to see Ohio follow this model next year when John Kasich is elected governor and the State House is redone.

Ohio State defeats Michigan, 21-10 in the in the 106th meeting between the schools.
As I said on twitter, it was another ugly, conservative, close to the vest(pardon the pun) offensive performance, but it's a win and that's what counts! Make that 6 in a row of M******n, 5 straight 10 win seasons, 5 straight Big10 Championships with this one being yet another outright championship. GO BUCKS!!!

Terrelle Pryor threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in his return to his home state and No. 15 Ohio State won a duel of the Big Ten's top two defenses with a 24-7 victory against No. 11 Penn State on Saturday. ...
A dominating performance by the defense and a nice job by the offense, can't complain too much. Would like to see us come off that "play for field position" mindset and bring in some better assistant coaches, especially a QB coach who can truly develop Pryor.
Would like to have seen Iowa win today. I wanted it to be us that knocked them from the ranks of the unbeaten. Oh well, take care of business the next 2 weeks and it's on to the Rose Bowl.

Wow, that sure didn't take long! No, the show's not been canceled (it apparently got huge numbers because of the direction it was going), but the guy who was guiding the show is out. I'm now going to be even more interested in seeing what direction the show takes now.

Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor may hail from the Keystone State, but when the Buckeyes travel to State College, PA on Saturday to take on Penn State, Pryor will be in hostile territory. Palestra.net's Jackie Bardosi has more on how Pryor feels about that challenge.
Pryor would be much further along if he had a true QB coach tutoring him. Hopefully that change is made before next season. With that said, I can't wait till Saturday! I think we're gonna sweep our last 3 games of the season and win yet another Big10 Championship.

This is a rather interesting take on the new show. If the "commentary" from this show is being portrayed correctly, I'm surprised that ABC would air it. If it is correct, I'll be interested to see if they keep it on or bow to the inevitable pressure to drop it. I am curious to see how it plays out as compared to the original series.

Ohio State treated its fans to a variety of trick plays on a Halloween afternoon, most of them sparking a 28-point second quarter, and the 17th-ranked Buckeyes rolled over New Mexico State, 45-0, Saturday in Ohio Stadium. ...
I really don't have much to say about this game. It was really nothing more than a glorified scrimmage. Thankfully, we came out of it healthy. Now on to State College, PA!

As a new Siena Poll released this morning showed Democrat Bill Owens (36 percent) and conservative Doug Hoffman (35 percent) neck and neck--and liberal Republican candidate Dede Scozzafava at 20 percent--Scozzafava withdrew from the race. Josh Kraushaar has the statement: ...
This is terrific news for the Conservative candidate! Now the vote won't be split between the RINO, Scozzafava, and Hoffman. Hoffman should have a clear path to victory now.

Just one year ago, would you have believed that an unelected government official, not even a Cabinet member confirmed by the Senate but simply one of the many "czars" appointed by the President, could arbitrarily cut the pay of executives in private businesses by 50 percent or 90 percent? ...
Once again, the brilliance of Mr. Sowell shines through! I highly recommend that everyone read this article. Only a fool would try to argue against what he's saying.
