The progressive taxation system that we use in this country is an absolute joke! It's time to repeal the 16th Amendment and institute a VAT (value added tax) or a national sales tax. This would cover EVERYONE, including the underground economy (those that get paid in cash and never report it). It would also be the fairest and most equitable system.
