An Interesting Tidbit

2004: George W. Bush - 62,028,285 John F. Kerry - 59,028,109 Total - 121,053,394

2008: Barack H. Obama - 63,042,806 John S. McCain - 55,821,650 Total - 118,864,456

That's a difference of 2,191,938. The turn out was greater in '04. This years turn out was terrific, but not on the scale that the media makes it out to be! Make of it what you want, but I think my supposition about conservatism is verified.

I'm not normally someone to say things like 'cite your source' but I have different numbers here.

According to the CNN Election Center
total votes come to 124,386,041 for 2008.

CNN stated that the 2004 election (includes third party candidate Nader) garnered 121,480,019 votes.

That is a 2008 surplus of 2,906,022 votes.

These are initial numbers. They since have been updated, but the '08 numbers are the SAME not higher than '04. This per CNN, and others
