Aw, Spring!

SARASOTA, Fla. - Bob Castellini, the Reds' new chief executive officer, was everywhere at the team's Ed Smith Stadium complex during spring training.

He sat in on meetings with coaches and scouts.

He walked the concourse, chatting up fans.

He strolled the backfields, watching minor-leaguers, meeting players and staff.

"It's been a lot of fun," he said.

And Castellini wants fans to have fun, too. To make that happen, there will be some changes this season at Great American Ball Park.

Man, I love this time of year! Everything is starting to bloom, the weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer and IT'S BASEBALL SEASON! I'm also loving what I'm hearing from the Reds new owner. A commitment to winning, not just being "competetive." If they can keep it interesting through the entire season I would be thrilled. I think they've got the people to do pretty good. Yeah, they could use another pitcher or two, but hey everybody but the Yankee's says that. There are finally baseball people running this team and I think it's great. This town is every bit the baseball town that St. Louis is, but hasn't been able to show it for quite some time. Maybe, just maybe now we can! GO REDS!!!
